15 REASONS WHY THE DEC DRAFT SEGEIS REPORT (THE DRAFT) RELEASED ON SEPTEMBER 30, 2009 NEEDS TO BE REWRITTEN
The New York State DEC issued a Draft Supplemental Environmental Impact Study on September 30, 2009 that clears the way for the commencement of large scale gas drilling in New York State in 2010. The regulations in the Draft are woefully inadequate and don’t protect the general public in the Catskill region, the New York City watershed, the Catskill Park and other environmentally sensitive areas.
