Volunteers Needed!
Help us organize. A strong grassroots constituency is the best defense for the Catskills. Help us table at regional events, do research, help with website maintenance, writing, phone banking and outreach.
Join our Catskill Trailkeeper program! This is our new project devoted to making information about the extensive network of Catskill hiking trails more available. Trailkeepers will help educate visitors and residents, including about how to protect the Catskill wilderness.
We’ll be working with existing trail-maintenance groups and other outdoors enthusiasts to make the Catskill Mountain trails even better!
We’ll also need help with our campaign for a more sustainable Catskills.

AGRICULTURAL LAND PROTECTION MANAGER The Columbia Land Conservancy (Chatham, NY) seeks a Land Protection Manager to assist with developing agricultural support initiatives and farmland protection projects. The Conservancy's current full-time manager responsible for agricultural programs is becoming part-time; this position is for either a part-time/job share arrangement, or possibly a full-time position. Main job responsibilities will include coordinating with current Senior Land Protection Manager to initiate and complete farmland protection projects along with general outreach and assistance programs for the agricultural community, assisting with the Conservancy's general land protection programs including conservation easements and acquisitions, community outreach and special projects, and some project-related fundraising. Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in applicable field and/or significant experience related to farming; agricultural science, economics, or support programs; farmland conservation; or general land conservation. Add'l background in land use planning, RE transactions, natural science, land management, forestry, and/or best management practices a plus. Competitive salary and benefits package, dependent upon qualifications and experience.
